ADD and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
In today’s world more children are diagnosed with ADD than ever before. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu may be able to help them learn to control their ability to keep attention in their daily life. It’s not a “cure” per say, but for some kids it can be a positive tool in overcoming this disorder. At Supremacy Jiu Jitsu, we teach one technique a week so our kids can grasp it to the fullest. In that week, the technique taught is broke down in detail which allows the kids to grasp the move and use it effectively in training. This is perfect for kids with ADD because they see the technique multiple times and are asked to replicate it on their partner. If they have questions or aren’t quite getting it, we have coaches that watch and teach that are more than willing to help them succeed. This constant grinding of techniques and the success we gain from performing techniques correctly will help kids understand the importance of disapline and focus. This strategy could potentially help them at school during class or at home perform tasks with minimal interruption because they understand the nature of completing the task in front of them. As I stated previously, Jiu Jitsu isn’t a cure, but it can help shape your child to become the best they can be.
