Failure is the Answer
I had a conversation with a newer white belt the other day and he said to me, “I love getting beat up and failing. It makes me a lot better when I learn what not to do.” This statement really resonated with me. I had the same exact mentality when I was a white belt. Failure is the catalyst to how we learn. There isn’t any reason to put pressure on yourself in trying to win all the time. Usually when that happens, new lessons can’t be learned and you can get bored with training. Don’t be afraid to try new things while training. It can lead to great inspiration, or at the very least, what not to do. Always ask questions if you are stuck in a situation you can’t work out yourself. Don’t be scared or embarrassed to ask, we all help each other. Keep training and keep learning!
