Going, When the Going Gets Tough
Jiu Jitsu has many ups and downs and during training, there are way more downs than ups. We call it, “peaks and valleys”, long periods of grinding and short bursts of success. Within the periods of grinding, it’s very important to the characteristic known as Perseverance. Perseverance is the effort required to do something and keep doing it till the end, even if it’s hard. Today, there is a shortage of perseverance required in kids’ sports. Kids are receiving rewards for minimal effort and unfortunately, that doesn’t help prepare them for life.
