The Cost of Martial Arts
Whenever you want to take on a new challenge, cost is an important factor in deciding on what to do. The thing with Martial Arts is it’s important to understand training is a service that isn’t based just on price. Finding a school that is good for you and provides what you are looking for requires some research before deciding. There are programs that range from community programs to training at a professional gym and each have a different price point. Community programs usually rent a space and the instructor usually has limited hours because of this. They may not have all the services bigger programs do, but they usually have smaller class sizes that allow for a more one on one instruction. The prices here usually range from $50-$100.
On the other end, there are professional schools. Professional schools have a full-time instructor that teach as their main job. They have a more diverse schedule for classes or multiple disciplines offered. They have small and larger classes, giving a smaller class feel on one end and many training partners to work with on the other. Also, they provide more equipment for more workout opportunities and different types of training. Since the instructor’s focus is their gym, they are more accommodating and there when their students need them. These schools usually range from $125-$200.
Either option will allow you to experience Martial Arts and help you start that new challenge you’ve been looking for. However, you have to decide what type of product you want. You have to decide based on the level of instruction provided, a more or less flexible training schedule, size of classes, or extra equipment for different types of workouts. Choosing a school for you may seem like a daunting task, but if you are ready to make a change and improve your quality of life, it’s a worthy investment.
